I've been working in El Salvador since 2014, when I felt like God was calling me to do something a little different. So in February of that year, I left my home in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to start a new life in the small Central American country of El Salvador.
This year (2016), I plan on teaching four young students: Teresa, Paola, Beatriz, and Eduardo. They are all deaf, and as such, require training in sign language for communication, and also some Spanish for reading and writing.
Although I can communicate in both American Sign Language and Spanish, I don't consider myself an expert in either--there's always more to learn! And of course, learning how to live in a new culture isn't always easy, either. So when you think about me, please pray that I could do my best in serving God and that everything would be done for His honor and glory.
