God answers prayer!

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if Beatriz would be able to come to school this year, but God has reminded me once again to just trust Him. Shame on me for doubting. The purpose of this post is to give an enormous THANK-YOU to God for answering prayer and making it come to pass that Beatriz could come to school this year.

A little back-story:

Beatriz has gone through a lot in her life, including an abusive father, the separation of her parents (although they did get back together later), and lack of money which meant she couldn't come to school, because the bus fare cost too much. She would always dread going home on the weekends for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure what all happened between this week and when school started this year--all I know is that she has started coming to school. Matthias and Andrea visited her this past weekend and Beatriz said she has been praying steadily for her dad that he would stop drinking, and God has also been answering her prayers!

Who knows what all will transpire yet, but I think God has something special planned for this young lady. Beatriz is usually very cheerful around here, and I pray that she could grow up to be an inspiration to others.

Prayer requests:

• First of all, thank God for answered prayers
• Pray that Beatriz could do well in her schoolwork
• Pray for her family/home situation
• Pray that Maria Eva (her teacher) and Andrea (her dorm mom) could have wisdom in interacting with and mentoring her during the week

God bless everyone who has been praying--your prayers have not been in vain.
